“The epitome of a First Lady” is how Pastor Marshall often described his beautiful wife Vernell A. Marshall.  The membership of The Greater Revelation Baptist Church – past and present could not agree with him more.  We thank God for favoring us with such a wonderful example of Christian living and a loving, caring helpmeet to our Pastor.

First Lady Marshall possessed a generous, patient, and caring spirit.  Members and visitors alike had always found a beautiful smile and a warm embrace to be a hallmark of her personality.  First Lady Marshall made no secret of her love for her church family, and in turn, we most certainly did love and cherish her.  She referred to herself as “The Water Hose” — she allowed God to use her to encourage, counsel, comfort and give correction when necessary and it was always done in love.  We give God honor and thanks for the wonderful Woman of God we had who was the epitome of a First Lady.

Our First Lady went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025.  She will be missed, but not forgotten.
